It was a risky business leaving the hideaway and venturing out openly into the wizarding world. Diagon Alley of all places was almost a notorious hot spot for Witches and Wizards to go missing. Death Eaters often patrolled the alley and it wasn't unusual to see a group of snatchers lurking, as they greedily eyed passers-by looking for a good find. Helena could very well be on their list. She'd recently published in The Quibbler - a number of articles that put into question the new ministry.
She was keen to find a new story, something really juicy to set the new ministry on edge and enlighten the wizarding population. She'd recently become interest in Hogwarts, what was happening behind the walls? With Severus Snape as Headmater and the Carrows also in charge there was clearly a story waiting to be sniffed out. Helena drifted down the alley, her red hair covered with her wizarding cloak, she kept to the edge of the street, keeping her head down and avoiding eye contact with those she passed. She paused outside the shop, which was her destination. The Quill Store. In hindsight, it might have been wiser to continue using her old scratchy quill, but her pride had gotten the better of her. If she was going to be sending off articles, she needed something a little smarter to write with.
Pushing the door open she entered the shop, a bell tinkled, alerting the shop keeper to her presence. Helena shuffled toward the the large quill stand and began browsing the quills available.

The sun was shining, however, there was a cold touch to the area of Diagon Alley. The cold touch wasn't due to the weather either, but the possibility of snatchers in the area. Baylee walked slowly towards her purpose of purchasing a new set of quills an ink. Unfortunately, the set Baylee had brought to Hogwarts had recently gone missing... She had special permission to attend Diagon Alley for matter of 1 hour to retrieve a set of quills and ink for the remainder of the semester. It wasn't like they should be worried, a seventh year Ravenclaw whom more than seven eighths of the student body, did not know existed... What harm could she do?
Diagon Alley was significantly quiet, an uneasy quiet. There were shady men in corners, and Baylee felt unsafe. This is how her mother must have felt upon her abduction. As Baylee diverted her eyes to the ground, it wasn't long before she was stopped in her tracks. She looked up slowly, fear evident in her eyes.
"And what might be the reason for a pretty young thing like yourself to be wandering these parts of the city ey?" He asked, his voice slimy and repulsive. "I have special orders from Hogwarts to attend to buy a set of quills and ink, special order" Baylee muttered, scrounging in her pocket for her note. It was't long before she found it and presented it to the dirty man, evident of being a snatcher. He grunted and stepped out of her way, in which she took no time at all to continue to her destination. That was enough confrontation for today...
Baylee opened the ever familiar door and set inside the warmth. It was as if it were Christmas for her. All the sets, all used for significant purposes. Really, Baylee loved to write...
She set to her usual set, used for purposes on school parchment, easy grip with a smooth finish. Baylee turned around, as if to so a slow motion circular movement, taking in the environment around her. But as if she had only started, she had run into someone.... Baylee almost died of embarrassment. Why would she do that? Why could she not simply melt into the flooring below her feet and disappear forever?
A red flushed flowed to the cheeks of the seventh year Ravenclaw. Too embarrassed to look up, Baylee stuttered an apology, and picked up the few quills which had fallen to the floor when Baylee had bumped into the stranger.
She finally looked up and came face to face with a pretty, petite woman. Her blue eyes were astonishing. Baylee mumbled another apology, pulling her obvious Hogwarts robes tighter, and rushing to the cashier. How embarrassing, At least she didn't know the woman, nor would she ever see her again....

There was a wide range of quills on display and Helena examined them carefully, there were normals ones, fancier quills and quills that had magical properties. There was a quick quotes quill, a much needed item for any reporter and Helena was drawn particularly to the peacock feather edition. Picking up the quill she examined its nib, she didn't hear the bell of the shop door tinkling as another customer entered. There was a stunning Phoenix feather quill for ten Galleons and despite the heavy price Helena could not help but add it to her desired purchases. The quill was certainly one to be proud of.
Helena was in mid thought when something strong hit her from behind, she fell forward slightly as the sound of falling quills sounded around the shop. Helena's hand whipped to her wand and she instinctively turned on her attacker, assuming that she'd been hit by an unfriendly spell from a snatcher. It would be just her luck to be recognised by a snatcher. It took her a moment of blinking in disbelief at her attacker, before she realised that the young girl that was stood before her was clearly not a snatcher.
She hurriedly put her wand away and offer a weak smile to the girl, who looked as if she could still be at Hogwarts. A Hogwarts student? Helena thought excitedly, if this wasn't a sign then she didn't know what was. This could be her chance to get the inside scoop on what was really happening in Hogwarts.
Helena gave the girl another smile, 'oh not to worry' she responded brightly, 'no harm no foul' she added, placing the quills she was considering buying on the side, she held her hand out 'I'm Helena' she said, purposely leaving her last name out, incase the girl knew of her, 'you are?' She asked.

Baylee's mind was all over the place, especially since she had now bumped into a complete stranger and felt like an idiot. Her mind had already been made scattered from the presence of a snatcher, in which Baylee still couldn't shake the feeling of his cold, sadistic eyes running over her... It was quite soul shaking.
She thought she could make a quick get away from the woman, pay for her quills and leave, however, she heard the woman's voice ring out in the silence. She introduced herself as Helena and asked for Baylee's in return... Baylee didn't know if she could trust the woman, however, Baylee wasn't doing anything wrong, so she wouldn't get in trouble right?
Baylee took the woman's hand, a small smile forming on the Ravenclaws lips. "I'm Baylee... Baylee Linton" She repeated, presenting her last name. Her parents had always told her to be true with who you are, if you introduce yourself, proudly proclaim your last name, it's your heritage after all. Baylee took her hand away and wrapped it around her body, as if her stance was disconnected from the woman. It felt like an awkward silence had dawned over the store, and Baylee didn't know how to break it. Sh knew it was rude to leave now the woman had initiated conversation.
"I see you have taken interest in the peacock quill. It's quite lovely to write with, and brightens your day just by looking at the vibrant color..." She explained, immediately kicking herself. She wished she could just crawl into a shell and die...

Helena waited patiently for the girl to respond, she couldn't believe her luck, if the girl really was a student it must be fate that she had come across her today of all days. She smiled as Baylee introduced herself, 'its nice to meet you Baylee' Helena responded. She was curious as to the girls age, she didn't look much older than her twins and it occurred to her that if things had been different her children, might have been in the same teaching year as Baylee.
It was a funny thought, imagining her life different to what it was. There wasn't much appealing about living in hiding, fearing everyday for the lives of those around you.
'Ahh yes' Helena replied brightly, 'it is rather beautiful, don't you think?' she asked holding it out for Baylee to look at. 'It has the colours of Ravenclaw, I suppose it would suit a witch or wizard from that house.' Helena continued casually. It was a rather leading question, but she was curious to find out if the witch was from Hogwarts.
'Were you shopping for anything in particular today?' Helena asked, turning back to look at the shelves that held an abundance of quills.
