It really was something, walking calmly down the halls at Hogwarts. Years ago, when he had been a student here, he had never deigned to hide away in a corner or duck under a nearby arch. He had never been that afraid as a student as these students seemed to be now. Or, perhaps, they were more afraid of him than he really felt any sort of attachment to them. He certainly wasn't afraid of them. Not when he had full control.
Being named as Deputy Headmaster had been an adequate promotion. Besides, his Lord Voldemort needed someone to look after Severus Snape, a man known more for his lack of backbone as he was for proper hygiene. As it appeared he needed assistance in order to keep the students in line, both Amycus and Alecto had been promoted. As much as he was happy for his sister in her new position, he was far more proud of himself. He had come so far from being the boy bullied by Hufflepuff brats of old. Now... now he could take it to the kids.
It also gave him authority to keep his eyes on the professors. Most of them kept in line, at least as far as he was concerned. He was perfectly happy to keep himself out of their affairs as long as they remained loyal to blood purity. There were a few he was content to keep an eye on from a distance. And then there were those that avoided him.
As he rounded the corner and paused outside the staff lounge, he chanced a glance inside. Certainly, those idiot children wouldn't be able to get inside the lounge and hide away from him, but he had to be absolutely certain. The room appeared empty, but he couldn't help but utter a few soft curses and let them float around the room, shattering a water pitcher and blowing one of the portraits off the wall. There were no sounds of protest and no shrieks of terror, which led him to believe the room was utterly empty.
He climbed his way to the next floor, his foot tapping impatiently as the moving staircase finally slid to a stop. Stepping off and into the corridors, he happened to spot someone walking away from him. It happened to be one of the very professors he had yet to see this year. A slow smile came to his face as he drew out his wand. It was for practical defensive purposes, of course. That and if she got... jumpy...
"Well, well, well." He couldn't remember her name, so he went with the other name that came to mind for her. "A Mouse." As far as he was concerned, this mouse never left her cage, which made him almost immediately suspicious.

Antonia had ventured out of the Hospital Wing and down to the Greenhouses to collect her order of fresh Mandrake Root. She need to make a new bout of Pepper-up potion, to replenish her stocks, after a recent outbreak of cold and flu. She had anxiously crossed the empty grounds back to the castle, her white nurses coat was wrapped around her shoulders and she shivered as a cold wind danced through the grounds.
She clutched at the roots in her arms, keeping her head down, she battled through the wind towards the shelter of the castle. It was quite unnerving entering the castle and hearing barely any sounds of life. The students shrinked back against the walls at any sign of movement and chatter was kept to a bear minimum. Every now and again a group of Slytherins would barge through, laughing and pointing their wands at cowering first years.
With a sigh, she turned and made her way quickly back to the safety of her hospital wing. She had a long list of things to do. She desperately needed some more calming draught, the Carrows reign of terror meant that a huge amount of students would turn up at her door in a state of panic.
She turned the corner and headed towards the hospital wing doors, but she never made it that far for a cold and callous voice caused her to pause surreptitiously. If only she had walked just a little quicker and she might have avoided the moment, which had been forced upon her. Antonia turned slowly on the spot, clutching meekly at the roots she faced Professor Carrow with a grimace. Her teeth grinding together as he voiced a nick name for her.
'Professor Carrow' she responded dryly, nodding her head in acknowledgement of his words. There was something unnerving about Professor Carrow's appearance and Antonia put it down to the darkness behind his eyes. There was very little behind his eyes and no matter how hard she looked, all she could see was unending coldness.

At least she had remembered her place.
Amycus advanced on her, taking in the fact her arms were full and her cargo was precious. He knew a few of the ingredients used in potion-making were quite priceless. For this reason alone, he chose to leave her cargo be and fixed his dark eyes on her face.
Amycus was intelligent enough to know that not all of the professors were keen enough to be friendly towards those that had taken over. Amycus was not the only Death Eater that enjoyed his job and enjoyed doing teaching students the true art of the Dark Arts. He simply felt that there was no one with enough anger and enough hate to actually tap into themselves and say the words that came to him as simple as breathing. Perhaps a few professors took offense to his methods, but they would never doubt that effectiveness. Hexing and cursing were second nature to him.
Not that he was going to hex anyone at the moment. This mousey nurse may be unflinching, but she was also suspicious, sneaking around in the night where she was likely hoping nobody would catch her. "You appear to be in quite a hurry." His words held a carefully-veiled accusation, like she had meant to be sneaking around and hiding what she was doing.

Antonia shrank away from the Professor as he moved towards her, she was fearful of how this chance meeting would progress. She knew full well there were no rules in the new wizarding law that would punish the Carrows use of forbidden curses. Her thoughts moved to her wand, which was situated in the pocket of her white robe. With her arms full she could not reach it easily, but then she knew if she were to draw her wand on him, it could result in even worse consequences.
Her eyes narrowed slightly as she met his gaze, before glancing back down at the roots in arm arms. Mandrake roots could be extrmely tempermental and Antonia had been hoping the darn things would remain sleeping until she could prepare them safely for the potion.
'Yes well wouldn't you be if you were carrying these darn plants?' she asked, more snappily then she had intended, she shifted uncomfortably from foot to foot under his stare, 'they must be prepared just right in order for the potion to work correctly, which of course you understand' she responded innocently, meeting his gaze again.

Plants? Amycus looked down at the lumpy things in her arms. Sure, they looked like plants, but he couldn't identify them. He couldn't tell what potions they would be used for. He couldn't eventell which ailment the potion could be used to remedy. This tripped him up for a moment as he wondered the careful way she carried the ugly little dumpling plants.
He hadn't been much of a student in Herbology or Potions, two classes that he had seriously lacked knowledge in. He had managed to slide along, thanks in part to the strong showing of other Slytherin students. And since graduating from Hogwarts, Alecto had been the one to worry about potions and mixing and which direction to stir and at what temperature. He really had no time for any of this.
But then again... her question may have been rhetorical, but Amycus had a sinking suspicion that he had been had. Again. He lifted his eyebrows. "Now, I wouldn't want you to lose such precious cargo, either," he said slowly, rather enjoying her shifty behavior. Then again, he still had the ability to apply scrutiny and make others uncomfortable. "I would watch your step.... nurse."
