MAGIC IS MIGHT A muggle strolled aimlessly through the forest, 'Coco!' the muggle cried, 'Come Coco' the muggle paused, peering through the darkening forest for a sign of the small Labrador. Something moved in the thicket and the muggle called again, the sound of a barking dog echoed around the forest and the sound movement followed. A moment later the dog burst through the trees and pounced excitedly on its owner. 'Come on Coco, back we go' the muggle said tiredly, not knowing how close to death he had come. The Ministry of Magic have set up protection spells around the clearing, only those with registered wizard numbers can enter the space. Snatchers patrol the area and there is a large bonfire with a muggle effigy atop of it. Wizards and witches have begun to arrive by portkey or apparition and they wait anxiously in small groups. To the north of the clearing is a newly erected stage, which displays the symbol of the Ministry. There are several stalls around the outside of the clearing, which promote the Magic is Might regime. Death Eaters stalk the clearing, looking for signs of revolution. At 21:00 hours the Minster for Magic will make his speech and the duelling will begin. Those who do not duel are looked down upon and the Snatchers are already sneering at those too weak to try their skills against each other.
Wizards and witches begin to arrive. Hogwarts students arrive by portkey in their houses and are told to stay in small groups throughout the event. The time is 19:30. Stay Safe and remember. Magic is Might. POSTING ORDER:

Fanny felt sick. Sick with revulsion and sick with apprehension. It wasn't a good combination, that much was for sure. Haley was still showing her the cold shoulder, talking only the most necessary things with her, as if that somehow would make a difference. As if that somehow would change the fact that Fanny was about to enter into the duelling contest, where she would have to stand up to the meanest kinds of wizards: Death Eaters. Those who knew no mercy, those who killed for sport. And who would certainly not mind to show a little Gryffindor half-blood her place: The mud. Now that she was here, she finally realized how crazy she had been to sign up for this. Forget being looked down on if refusing... that had never bothered her. How could she possibly think DA or the Order could benefit in any way from her bravado? Well... at least Sig had entered as well, that was a small consolation. They were in this together and even if Haley right now ignored her, Francesca Dakota knew that her sister would always have her back.
The main thing now was not to stick out too much. The snatchers were everywhere and as much as Fanny hated the sight of them and itched to teach them a lesson, she knew that it would be certain suicide. There were better ways to leave this life... by being duelled to pieces for example. Seeing Baylee a little in the distance, Fanny threw her sister one last unnerved glance and moved to her friend's side. The whole scene was spooky in its perfectly staged way... even just looking at the muggle effigy made her guts squirm again. Was this really what their world had come down to? Witch-hunts reversed? And if it even started out that way, what on earth was to follow next? Rumour had it, even the Dark Lord himself would appear tonight. Another thing that was sure to make Fanny sick. Of course, he had been there during the devastating Battle of Hogwarts, but she had never seen him face to face. And had never wanted to.
„I am glad they at least didn't put a REAL muggle up there“, she muttered through half-closed lips. „I wouldn't put it past them...“ No, she certainly wouldn't. This was the only thing yet preventing her from calling this meeting hell incarnate. „So... what should we do before I kick these--“ she broke off as a Snatcher walked by and reformulated „show our gracious hosts that it am willing to do my part for their dominance?“

It was as if a cold set upon the night sky. It was never this cold, but as the seventh year Ravenclaw walked quietly through the forest with her fellow students, she couldn't help but feel icy. It was as if the closer she came to the area marked out by the ministry, the more emotionless she felt, the more the ice set through her.
She looked around, frantically trying to find someone, anyone that had a familiar face. Fanny, Sig, even Al. Just someone...
She entered through, snatchers in clear view, as if they were trying to sort out the weak students from the pack. She was signaled to an area, her eyes adverting to the ground. It wasn't long before Baylee felt a presence next to her. A snatcher? A Deatheater? She looked slowly to her side, but a calm set upon her, and a small smile rose to her lips. Fanny!
Not a word was spoken between them, and Baylee preferred it that way. The silence was needed in a time like this. Baylee hand reached out to her friends and she squeezed it lightly, reassuringly.
She looked back as the students filled the dome, was what in store for them tonight? Was the Dark Lord going to make an appearance? Were the order close by? In case anything happened?
Baylee was apprehensive. Fanny would be dueling tonight, and Baylee didn't know if she could stand to watch. Fanny spoke, her voice was quiet.
"I'm glad too. This place makes me feel sick..." Baylee squirmed. Was this what had happened to her mother? She couldn't stand the thought. As a snatcher walked past, eyeing them both off curiously, Fanny changed her tune. "I guess we wait, to what is in store. Oh Fanny, I wish you didn't have to do this!" Baylee admitted, her voice barely audible.

Evelyn sighed for a moment. Her mother didn't want her to go to Hogwarts but what choice did she have? She then thought that they should have moved but it would be hard with twins who didn't seem ready to move since they were a little too young. She thought about getting a job to help her mother out but she then figured who would take on a fifteen year old to work for them? No one in their right mind anyways. Maybe she could work for the ministry by cleaning the building after her last class if they'd let her but who knows. She walked into the forest and found a portkey.
As soon as she touched the portkey it took her to the main event. She looked around and saw Franny and Bailey. She walked over tot he two pretty quickly. She then stopped when she saw the bonfire with a muggle effigy on top of it. "Is that a real muggle on top of the bonfire" She whispered. She wasn't sure if it was fake or not. But then again her mind was probably running away with her once more. She saw a snatcher walk by and looked away for a moment. she was beginning to wonder if she should have just stayed at Hogwarts.
She looked once more around her to take in her surroundings. She wondered when the Minister of Magic was supposed to show up. "So do either of you know when the Minister of Magic is supposed to show up to this gathering? And do either of you know what it's about?" She asked not really sure what it means. She just knew it was important to show up. This way her brother's would have a roof over their heads and food for their tummy's.

Morgana loathed having to use the portkey with all the other students but she hid that fact from anyone but herself. She could apparate well enough when not under pressure. Though she might be a tad inaccurate from time-to-time. At least she didn't have to hold hands with Hufflepuffs and Gryffindors.
The event had been the only thing that any Slytherin had talked about for a week. Morgana was one of the curious. Often stating that if a Muggle didn't die or at least get seriously injured, she'd feel cheated.
The portkey began to glow and a wave of excitement stirred among the Slytherin students. Morgana gripped the old fire poker tighter, pushing against a smaller student as she did so. When she felt the familiar pull against her navel, Morgana regretted travelling by portkey even more. She forgot to orient herself properly and stumbled dazedly as the Slytherin reached their destination.
Catching herself against a tall official ministry-looking wizard, Morgana nearly collapsed into him. But she was able to regain balance after clutching the wizard's robes tightly. When she looked up to see who she had grabbed ahold of, Morgana released the man almost instantly. She glared at him with an expression of accusation. She opened her mouth to berate the man, but the bonfire attracted her gaze. Atop it was what she believed to be a Muggle. Morgana screamed aloud at the sight of it and raised her arms in the air in triumph. After all the years of doubt, the Ministry was finally going to prove her mother wrong in all of her assumptions. The ministry wizard stirred before her and Morgana backstepped away from him quickly.

Sig was among the last of the Hufflepuffs to take the portkey to the clearing where the gathering was supposed to take place. He felt as though he should hang back and make sure that everyone was able to safely use the portkey, making sure everyone was holding hands before the portkey was touched. By the time there were only enough people for one more group, he instructed the remaining students, most of whom appeared nervous to be traveling in such a method, to link hands with him, ensuring that everyone was touching before he grabbed the portkey, sending them to their destination.
Sig didn't exactly know what to expect when he arrived at the gathering. At first, he was surprised to see, what looked to be, a normal looking celebration. That was, of course, before he noticed the bonfire with the muggle effigy directly over top of it. An audible sigh escaped his mouth as a look of anticipated disappointment befell his face. As the group of students he arrived with began to disperse, he gave out a casual reminder. "Stay out of trouble, everyone. I feel as though the people here will do more than give you a detention, if they catch you acting out of line." It didn't take long before he found a few more familiar faces.
He reached Fanny, Baylee, and Evelyn just in time for Evelyn to ask whether or not the former two knew about when the minister was supposed to speak what the true purpose of the gathering was. "The minister is supposed to be speaking at nine o'clock, and, if I were to venture a guess, I'd say it's a show of force. Have the minister give some rousing speech, then show how much better all the purebloods are by having them duel half-bloods." Sig's face looking pretty serious while he spoke before his expression turned to a grin when he looked at Fanny and gave her a gentle punch on the arm. "Too bad they didn't count on either of us to enter." He was looking forward to the dueling.
Truthfully, Sig had no idea how well he was going to do when it came time for him to duel. It was true, he had been practicing with Fanny in secret, and he'd been getting steadily better since he joined the dueling club, but he still lacked that true test. He was looking forward to it, and mentally preparing himself the same way he prepared himself before going hunting with his father, trying to get his head in a place where he would be prepared to do what needed to be done when the right moment came. Also, he was really hoping that none of his spells would backfire.
Sig whipped his head behind him as he heard a scream to see an ecstatic looking girl with her arms in the air. She bore a striking resemblance to a witch he'd met some time before the gathering. He thought her name was Viola, and, from what Viola had told him, the girl he was seeing must have been the twin about who he had been told. "I'll be back in a second." He said excusing himself from his friends. He immediately walked over to the girl, a grin still on his face. "I take it you must be Morgana Gorlois, then. I don't want to bore you. So, I'll get to the point." He'd been thinking about what he was going to offer her since he's spoken with her "sister." "I want to help you become the starting seeker for your house's team."
