Note: In many ways, I have always seen traits of myself in Hermione, I am equally as interfering, hard headed, and fearful of failure. I am very passionate, so much that it can hinder me. I am easily flustered, implosive and I expect myself to always have the answer. Hermione cared less about what others thought than I did; however, maybe she was just as critical of herself as I am of myself. J.K Rowling noted that, Hermione was a lot like herself. Hermione embodies some of the traits and characteristics that we choose not to acknowledge in ourselves. Things we did not choose and things that are not easily changed. All in all, I believe Hermione is one of the best written characters because she is effortlessly real.

THE RECORDS BIRTH DATE: September 19th, 1979FORMER HOUSE: Gryffindor BLOOD STATUS: Muggleborn WAND: Walnut, Dragon Heartstring, 12 ¾" (formerly Bellatrix Lestrange's wand) ABILITIES: Knowledgeable in Arithmancy and spell casting, Efficient, Studious, Brave FAMILY: Mr. Granger (Also known as Wendell Wilkins), Mrs. Granger (Monica Wilkins), Hector Dagworth-Granger (Possible distant relative) PERSONALITY Hermione has been described by many as the "brightest witch of her age". Hermione thrives off of learning, and has the work ethic to do many things at once, in fact, she prefers it this way. She is compassionate and socially conscientious. Hermione has deep, intrinsic motivation to help others especially those who are treated or viewed worse than she is. Her blood impurity made her sympathetic. When she was young, Hermione was greatly insulted by the term Mudblood but she later embraced her impurity and turned her status into purpose for fighting. While at Hogwarts she became involved in S.P.E.W, an organization that promoted the freedom of house elves. Hermione is known to readily rely on logic, which often makes her skeptical without physical proof. Because of her opinionated, interfering nature, Hermione had the reputation for being a bossy know-it-all. Her sometimes abrasive attitude masked deep insecurities and fear of failure, as personified by her Boggart. Hermione felt the need to prove herself, perhaps partly because of how many people in wizarding society looked down on Muggle-borns. She did not let anyone bully her about this, however, and ignored bigots like Draco Malfoy. In her fifth year, she also became one of the few people to call Voldemort by name. Despite her confidence in her abilities, she was not arrogant or conceited, and helped her classmates with their schoolwork whenever she could. Hermione was quite responsible, perfectionistic and well put-together, which led to her being made a prefect during her fifth year. Throughout her entire school career, Hermione was insistent on order and steadfastly devoted to the rules, at the expense of her popularity. Her sense of humor was limited; she frequently expressed disapproval over Fred and George's practical jokes and threatened to put them in detention for selling prank items in the common room. She often attempted to act as the voice of reason among her more impulsive friends, to varying levels of success. However, in spite of her straightlaced disposition, Hermione was not above using coercion and threats to get what she wanted, as is evidenced by her blackmailing Rita Skeeter into writing a good article about Harry. Hermione was not afraid to stand up to her friends when she thought it was in their best interests, or when she felt they were wrong; she risked angering Harry by getting his Firebolt confiscated because she feared it might be jinxed, and argued with both him and Ginny over his use of the shady Half Blood Prince's textbook. Hermione was very determined and focused, in that she always keeps her attention focused on the job that must be done. Her refusal to break under torture shows her strength of willpower. Hermione also tended to be rather argumentative, a trait most evident in her interactions with Ron. Although she was generally not as short-tempered as her friends, she displayed a formidable one on several occasions, such as slapping Draco Malfoy in defence of Hagrid, sabotaging Cormac McLaggen's tryout as a Keeper for the Gryffindor Quidditch team after he insulted Ron and Ginny, conjuring a flock of canaries to attack Ron in their sixth year and physically attacking Ron when he briefly abandoned her and Harry during their hunt for Horcruxes Studious, Loyal, Brave, Known to take things too seriously (Will become shrill when frustrated) HISTORY "Why is it that whenever anything happens, it's always you three?" - Professor McGonagall © Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince Hermione Granger is the only child of muggle dentists and proud parents. Hermione had an ordinary childhood, but she was greatly loved. Her parents were bemused by the oddities and fantastical abilities of their daughter. In the summer of 1991, Hermione learned that she was a witch. At that moment she was invited to go to school at Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry she took to learning everything she could about the wizarding world and studying magic before she stepped foot in its halls. To no ones surprise, the young witch had memorized several spell books and even managed to perform a few spells. Hermione met Ron Weasley and Harry Potter on the Hogwarts Express when she was eleven, and Neville Longbottom who lost his pet toad, Trevor. Hermione went everywhere her boy's did, and made it her responsibility to watch over and keep them out of trouble. Hermione took her assignments, classes and school rules very seriously, sometimes too seriously. Ron and Harry would tease her but they often go to her for help, knowing that she has a hard time telling them 'no'. Her keen mind and wittiness often made others wonder why she was sorted into Gryffindor and not Ravenclaw, but for Hermione, the Sorting Hat's decision was respectable and she never once questioned its decision once it was made. As Hermione grew up, she became less and less worried about following the rules and more about doing what needed to be done. It was not out of Hermione's range to use coercion and threats to make others do what she wanted. Hermione's involvement in the fight against Voldemort began that year, after suspicion that the Philosopher's Stone was going to be stolen Hermione helped Harry and Ron pass Fluffy the three headed dog, saved her friends from Devil's Snare and answered a riddle that allowed Harry to pass.
