SLYTHERIN
Morgana Kira Gorlois
THE RECORDS BIRTH DATE: October 13, 1986 WAND: 14 inches, Yew, Dragon heartstring, unbending ABILITIES: Seeking, Quidditch HOBBIES: Quidditch, potion-making, dancing, fashion, prejudicing FAMILY: Mother- Katarin Gorlois née Melia Father- Morgan Gorlois IV Brother- Morgan Gorlois V Father's mother- Alsciaukat Gorlois PERSONALITY Just an average spoiled rich witch. Morgana loathes any person who can match her abilities through hard work and natural talent. Besting her in any contest is a sure way to incur her wrath. She harbors a strong dislike of Muggles, the poor and blood traitors. She is surprisingly tolerant toward Half-bloods and can be quite temperamental with other pureblood witches and wizards. She lacks inhibition at spending galleons and will buy the same product for a higher price when available. Daddy is her favorite parent, because he provides the most galleons. Morgana would rather not spend a minute with her mother and avoids her at any cost. It doesn't matter what her mother says or does, Morgana will be offended, annoyed and angered by it. Sometimes Morgana will have a momentary feeling of remorse for feeling this way, but those spells pass quickly. She is closest with her twin brother. Whom she is competitive with to the extreme. Especially in Quidditch, though he prefers to be Keeper and she a Seeker. Her enjoyment for brewing potions was perpetuated by her grandmother, her father's mother. Grandmother, Alsciaukat, was a very shallow and malice-filled lady. She is also ancient, reputed to be one of the oldest witches alive. She only speaks German, which is also where Morgana learned the little bits of German that she has. Despite her love of Potions as a young girl, Morgana knew very little about her grandmother's potions and learned even less from her due to the language barrier. Morgana even picked up her grandmother's talent for getting people to do things she wants without them noticing. When the twins, Morgana and Morgan, were found to be extremely anti-social; Their father got them a tutor, to help them adjust to school. She was punished, sometimes harshly, for expressing any prejudice or drawing attention to herself in any other way by her tutor and mother. She was jealous and angry with her brother's ability to adapt to the new rules immediately. Morgana often denounced her mother and brother as blood traitors at dinners and parties. Often causing a scene, which infuriated mother ever more. Most other wizards and witches view Morgana as attention-obsessed, which you could certainly make a strong case for. Father was her only defence against them but he was often away at work. Father's job. It wasn't really a job. He was a thief, a con-artist and sometimes even a killer. And though he never became a Death Eater, he supported the pureblood cause with monetary donations. Even while his wife held a charity to buy supplies for orphaned wizards and witches going into Hogwarts. Mother didn't do real work either, her only occupation was that charity, which she would accentuate how much of a help it was for half-bloods and muggleborn. The fact that her parents seemed to be polar opposites to one another, fed a lot of confusion to Morgana. She often wondered aloud why father liked mother, it was a mark of how sadistic her parents were that they never shed light on their duality. Her brother seemed to understand immediately on the other hand. HISTORY Morgan Gorlois was the first Gorlois to marry outside of his cousins. Moving from Germany to England in the process. He was a very conflicted individual at that age. Voldemort had just fallen, leaving his followers in chaos and despair. Morgan wanted to distance himself from his pureblood relatives. Most of whom were violently opposed to Mudbloods and half-bloods, many even former lieutenants of Grindelwald. Up until Morgan Gorlois the fourth, no Gorlois had ever wavered in their conviction to pureblood, or so the myth goes. In England, Morgan met another similarly conflicted woman, Katarin Melia. Their love was shallow and impersonal for the most part. They never knew nor cared much about eachother outside of making love. Despite that, they thought it a good idea to marry. Both Morgan III and Katarin were extremely calculated individuals. They didn't have any children until they decided they'd wanted one. Regardless of their planning, it came as a big surprise that they were going ot have twins. If you knew the two of them, you knew it was a surprise that wouldn't please either of them in the least. Morgan was born first, and thus deemed the planned one. Whereas Morgana was born second and deemed the unplanned one. Katarin especially has always harbored an immense dislike toward Morgana for even being born. Morgan had never been much of a worker. Even before they'd become romantic, Katarin knew he was a thief. In the early years, she would even help him steal from unsuspecting victims, many of whom were other wealthy purebloods. His children never slowed Morgan down and Katarin would neither. Despite his profession, Morgan was well-liked in the pureblood community. Which was likely a reason he was never caught. Morgana's early years were mostly with just her brother and mother. A group in which, she was the outcast from the start. Despite it, her mother tried to be as nice as possible to both children. Morgana could tell that her mother didn't like her even as nice as she was. When she turned four, Morgana was sent to live with Alsciaukat, her grandmother. Even though she had been sent at the urging of Katarin, no sooner had she gone, Katarin began to lament what effect the Gorlois clan might have on her child. Often Katarin would tell her reflection in the mirror that Morgana didn't really matter because she was the mistake. Living with Alsciaukat was a breath of fresh air for Morgana. She felt as if she didn't have to tread carefully through the proverbial eggshells of her mother's psyche. Even so, she was immensely frightful of her cousins. Usually latching herself to grandmother while they were around. The other Gorlois seemed to unlike her. Usually criticizing her father loudly so that she'd hear. Morgana defended her father fiercely, despite barely knowing him herself. Most of her relatives laughed at her for her ignorance. She also started showing signs of magic while living in Germany. She would throw rocks that flew greater distances that she could actually throw, mostly at sneering cousins. At the age of nine, Father came to take Morgana back home. On the way back, he told her that he'd always wanted her to come back but couldn't. In truth he didn't care and it was Katarin getting tired of being bothered about his sister's return from young Morgan. It was some months after her return that their father paid someone to tutor the twins. Mostly on social interaction but also on basic language and spellwork. Morgana hated the tutelage although her brother enjoyed it. Hogwarts letter came as no surprise to Morgana. She was rather happy with her wand. She wanted a cat very much. Though her mother threw a temper tantrum at the suggestion. Morgana was still not used to this behaviour from her mother. Apparently, her mother hated cats so she was forced to get an owl. Even then, her father tried to get her to settle with sharing the eurasian eagle-owl that her brother wanted. But Morgana wouldn't give the suggestion a thought and demanded a snowy owl. One look at Katarin, made the father immediately abandon trying to talk Morgan away from his eagle-owl without even an attempt. With two owls in tow, the family took floo powder home. Father had to leave as soon as they got back, and once he was gone Katarin blamed Morgana for his absence. Claiming that he could have stayed if she hadn't wasted his galleons on another owl. Morgana fled to her room and cried. But vowed it would be the last time mother made her weep. She boarded the Hogwarts Express for the very first time the week following that ordeal. It was a cold, demoralizing ride. She was absolutely sickened by the other children. Her brother seemed to fit in with others fine. She was jealous. Even moreso towards other girls who already met friends. Many people tried to speak to her but she was shallow and blew many off based on looks. Those she didn't mind looking at were either mudbloods or blood traitors. It was a long, monotonous ride to Hogsmeade. Near the end of the run, she'd finally been asked to sit with a group of older Slytherins. One boy in his second said he'd noticed her mother's tantrum in Diagon Alley. Morgana was embarassed and shrank in her seat. But then he continued on about how she'd talked her father into getting her two owls. Even though he got the details wrong, Morgana went along with it and pretended that she had two owls. The other Slytherin were thoroughly impressed by this feat. One girl even admitted that she could only coax a single toad out of her father. Morgana gave her a malicious look, angered that she'd dare try to follow her own story with a toad. The sorting ceremony was probably the most anxious she'd ever been. She knew she wanted to be in Slytherin by now. Though she'd settle for Ravenclaw. Her brother went before she did and placed in Gryffindor. Morgana was crushed by the news. A flood of fear swept her. She knew her brother was usually stronger than her and he couldn't make Slytherin. She stepped up to the small stool and sat when prompted too. She knew for sure that it would yell Gryffindor, and she put on a scowl quickly to hide her fear and sorrow. "SLYTHERIN" the hat boomed almost instantly. Morgana was so stunned she got up too fast and fell off the back of the chair. Professor McGonagall caught the Sorting Hat in mid-air. Then aided Morgana's rise with her free hand. Morgana ran and sat at the Slytherin quickly. She scanned the faces for the second-year boy who had admonished her on the train and was angered to notice the toad lady seated to his right. Morgana rushed over and took the seat to his left anyway when he beckoned her. Grades were never extremely high. Morgana consistently exceeds expectations in Potions and Outstanding in Herbology but scrapes a mere acceptable in every other class. With History plunging into poor and dreadful levels from time to time. She is very good to teachers even though she doesn't want to be. Her tutelage worked wonders for her attitude, it was even more effective than Morgana thought that it would be. Her interactions with students were less rewarding. She could only ignore mudbloods to refrain from verbally abusing them. Though there were only a few cases of such behaviour during her first year. When forced to converse with people she knew to be unpure, she would often get moody. ELISE - FOURTEEN - EASTERN UNITED STATES & CANADA - FEMALE |
